Don’t Buy a Wedding Dress (Unless You Can Do These Things)
zRealizing that you’re about to take the first steps into a brand new chapter of life can be absolutely intoxicating, but you can’t let that euphoria get so into your head that you wind up losing it. Buying a wedding dress is such a heavy and anxious concept that many women are understandably flustered by even the consideration of it, but in spite of that, it’s still entirely possible to go through with the whole process without pulling your hair out. The first thing to understand is that you cannot let the allure of a wedding dress compromise your ability to take every step of the process naturally, calmly, and realistically. You want the buildup to the ceremony to be something of joy and anticipation, not a struggle-saturated period of regret. There are many reasons to invest time into getting the perfect wedding dress, but here are the things that you SHOULD NOT consider getting a dress without first taking to heart.
Be True to Your Budget
The marriage is magnificent! The marriage is memorable! And the marriage is, above all else, quite expensive! Of course, different people’s perspectives on ‘expensive’ are very valid depending on their particular position in life, but you have to be honest about what you can invest into the ceremony. It’s a far better plan to have something you can afford that turns into something you absolutely love, rather than throwing money into something you initially love that you’ll immediately regret down the line. The small services and amenities of a ceremony can easily build up extremely rapidly, and chances are it will be one of the biggest parties you throw in your life; make sure that you’ve gotten all the expenses covered down to the decimal point, and there won’t be one point where you look back and wonder where all of the money went!
Stick to your Style
You’re gorgeous in your wedding dress, it moves with you like it’s literally an extension of your body; you can’t imagine wearing anything else…until you try something else on! Your wedding dress should feel natural, but once you’re gotten it, stick to it! There will always be something else that feels just as good, if not better; lose yourself in the greatness of the first that feels –right-, and simply bask in that rightness without pressure to keep on looking.
