Kate has ordered £3,000 of jewellery from Kiwi brand Tory and Ko[GETTY ]Kate, William and little George only touched down in New Zealand yesterday but it seems the Duchess was making friends before she even landed.The 32-year-old ordered four statement pieces from local Kiwi jewellery designers Tory and Ko for her three week Royal tour.Kate, who is famed for championing British designers such as Alexander McQueen, has chosen four elegant pieces from the Kiwi boutique, for her trip around New Zealand and Australia.

The Duchess has chosen two pairs of nine-carat gold earrings from the Pretty Collection, costing £350 each, with one featuring blue topaz and the other a citrine gem.A third pair is made from 18-carat gold and has diamonds and a large elegant cultured pearl and is worth £1,500.The Duchess has ordered these 18-carat gold, diamond and cultured pearl earrings [GETTY ]The fourth item is a beautifully simple necklace with large pearl detail, costing £800.And although Kate hasn’t worn the items yet, owners of the jewellery boutique – Kirstin O’Brien and Victoria Taylor – are very excited and say their website is already reaping the benefits of “the Kate effect”.Kate also opted for a pair of these nine-carat gold earrings in blue topaz [IG]She also got a matching pair in a citrine gem [IG]Kirstin said the website of the Wellington-based business, Tory & Ko, has had more than 11,000 hits in the past two days when it normally gets just a handful.”Pearls and diamonds are classic, perfect pieces of jewellery. We think it’s a wonderful selection that can be worn during the day and dressed up in the evening,” said Kirstin, who has a marketing background while her business partner Victoria creates the designs.
