Kate Hudson speaks about her successful engagement with Bellamy!
Kate Hudson has been engaged to her Muse rocker love Matthew Bellamy for three-and-a-half years, but the lengthy wait isn’t bothering her.
The Hollywood actress, 35, who has a young son with Cambridge-born Matthew, opened up about her perception of marriage.
“It’s a long engagement,” Kate told Women’s Health. “I think the best part is that knowing you’re working towards the idea of a commitment that is hopefully as long of a stretch as you can pull it, and forever seems beautiful.”
“I look forward to the wedding day because when that happens, to me, marriage what I really love about it is bringing the families together, and the kids,” she added.
Kate – whose own mum Goldie Hawn isn’t married to her partner of 31 years Kurt Russell – admitted that she was leading “a very non-traditional life” and hadn’t gone down the conventional road of marriage and then children.
The Wish I Was Here star began dating Matthew, 36, in spring 2010 and one year later the couple got engaged. Their son Bingham was born in July 2011 in Los Angeles.
Kate is also mum to another son, born in 2004, from her previous marriage to The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson.
The California girl candidly said that “marriage is not a golden ticket”, considering her own divorce to Chris after seven years together and her mum Goldie’s previous two marriages.
