A statement from the couple read: “Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year.”
And although the only information we had at first was the cost of the engagement ring, which experts have revealed could have cost anything up to £200,000, Pippa has now let slip some exciting details in her first ever major interview.
Plus we’ve got some pretty accurate predictions ourselves, including the guest list, the dress, the cake and her nephew Prince George.
Here’s our predictions for Pippa Middleton’s 2017 wedding.
The wedding location
It is thought that Pippa and James are most likely to tie the knot in Bucklebury, Berkshire, where the Middleton’s family home is.
Royal expert, Jennie Bond, told OK! magazine exclusively: “From what I gather, the couple are both very traditional, so I should imagine that they’ll go down the traditional route and have the wedding near Pippa’s home.
“It will be the most glamorous since the royal wedding!”
The bridal gown
Pippa was the talk of the town when she was Kate’s maid of honour, the gorgeous brunette followed her sister into Westminster Abbey in a figure-hugging dress from Alexander McQueen.
Jennie believes Pippa will have to go a long way to make her wedding dress more beautiful than her maid of honour’s dress.
It’s unlikely that Pippa would use the same designer, however, it’s been noticed recently that she’s a huge fan of Suzannah Crabb, who has a Suzannah line that includes bridal collections.
And Pippa has herself opened up about her wedding dress after once declaring she would wed in her tennis whites.
She tol the MailOnline: “No, that was a phase I went through as a little girl and I was having a bit of a battle about wearing a dress.
“I wasn’t into dresses as an eight year old.”
The page boy
Prince George turns four next July, which is the same age his dad – Prince William – was when he was page boy at his uncle Prince Andrew’s wedding to Sarah Ferguson in 1986.
Can you imagine the pictures?
The guest list
Everyone from royalty to reality TV is expected to be at the wedding, with James’ brother – Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews – favourite to be best man.
However, Jennie doesn’t believe that Kate will be bridesmaid, she told OK! magazine: “I’m sure Kate will want to be a bridesmaid, as her and Pippa are so close.
“I really do hop they break tradition. From what I know of Kate, she is a decent, loving sister and she’ll want to make absolutely sure that it’s very much Pippa’s big day, so she will want to cling to normality – but that’s hard when you’re the Duchess of Cambridge.”
The wedding cake
Pippa is a baker herself and featured cake recipes in her book, which was published in 2012.
It’s thought that she could request the services of a local baker in her hometown or follow in the footsteps of her sister.
Kate used the skills of Her Majesty the Queen’s pastry chef Fiona Cairns, who baked an eight tiered cake decorated with 900 sugar paste flowers for her big day.
The Bridal hair
Celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward – who styled Kate’s wedding locks – told OK! magazine exclusively: “Pippa is lucky in that she can have anything in terms of Bridal hair.
“I imagine that she will go for a style very different to her sister’s because she is her own person.
“Pippa is very stylish and chic, so I’d say she might go for a low chignon at the base of her neck, or her hair up and softened around the her face.”
He added: “I’d be very surprised if she just wore it down.”
